if you register to www.gamebattles.com and create a team in the PC games ladder you can verse other people in mini-games online but if you want an RPG game to play there are some low rated games such as Adventure quest and mech quest but they do not support chat, the onlyfree games online game i can think of with chat that isn't included above would be world of warcraft, i know its not free but there's a trial version, you could maybe try that out until your trial runs out and if you enjoy it go out and buy it :)

I would like to have my bands myspace music player on the info tab of my bands facebook page. The day before yesterday everything worked, I have not changed anything on my computer and now when I try to go to myspace it does'nt work. I have asked this question 2 times already. Why is that when I go to myspace it only shows words, no pictures background or anything? When I log in again just shows words with a white background. I use mozilla firefox by the way. I have updated everything and it still says server not found and it comes up with this address api.msappspace.com. F5 does nothing at all...
It appears to be an outage.
There is NO tech support so don't even try.
Myspace has posted no messages about this issue as well.
It is like they have dumped all their users in the dark and dfirefox deutschon't care.
In my opinion myspace is going downhill fast if this is how they treat their users!!

I get a lot of advertisements about dowloadable software. One that I've been getting a lot lately is for Adobe CS3 Premium for only $269 when the retail price is well over $1,500.00. I was wondering if this is a scam. Has anyone used these downloads? What was your experience? Would you recommend it to a friend? What are the disadvantages to downloading as opposed to purchasing the CD?

As it only takes a couple hours to perform backups and reinstall the OS, thus giving you a clean slate, that's the recommend methodology.
As for what's causing the slowdown -- if it almost freezes up, it means that you are probably running out of RAM (random access memory, not to be confused with hard disk / storage). In that situation, your system begins swapping, or using free space on your hard disk as backup. The issue is that your hard disk is 1000 times slower, which results in the system seizing up.
As for how much hard disk storage space is used -- contrary to popular beliadobe shockwave player 11 free downloadef, using too much of it doesn't slow the computer down. It's one of those things where you either have enough or don't have enough. If you have enough, your computer runs fine, and if not, things fail catastrophically. In your case, you have a 80GB HDD, 13GB of which is used. This is fine.

OK, I have a little less than 1G of RAM, desktop, Intel Celeron M 420 CPU @ 1.60GHz, (whatever that means), I use WIN XP and Real Player 10. I've put about 17 or 18 CD's on it, will this amount be ok? Is it ok to put any more this? If so, could you please give me some kind of guidelines to go by?
I currently have Google Earth (along with several add-ons) installed, about 4 spyware programs, 4 browsers, a couple news/temperature prog,. A couple TV players, 4-5 media center add-on's, and a couple screensavers I downloaded. And ofcourse my 17-18 CD's and anti-virus, but that's about it. Drive C: shows, (used 12.3GB), free space:165 GB, capacity:178GB.
There is no limit and no slow down (as long as you have enough open space left). You have plenty of disc storage left, and only need to watch it if you drop below about 10GB.
You may also want to add a second disc drive, and back up your data (music etc) on it, as you never know when a disc drive will go dead. Then it is too late to save your data. I back up all of my data every 2 weeks (over 30GB at this point) and have 4 disc drives in my tower (2 EIDE and 2 SATA).
I also have about 2,500 songs, and 38,000 pictures on therintel download center downe, emails for 12 years and about 35 DVD movies. NO slow down! ;-)

once you fill up your harddrive (get > 175gb of used space on your harddrive) then your computer will slow down.

What you're storing on the computer really doesn't make it slow. You have plenty of Hard Drive space, so I wouldn't worry about it. Microsoft recommends keeping at least 15% free, and you are well above that. What slows down your machine is low RAM, and storing music doesn't affect RAM on your machine.
If you have 165G free, that's oh...like 100 more albums no sweat.

Music is stored and your computer doesn't continuously access the entire hard drive. Your hard drive remains inactive until the Operating system retrieves something from it, such as a song. You click on the song you want, your Operating system retrieves only that 1 song you want from your hard drive and plays it.
Think of it like this: you read a book. You read at the same speed no matter what size the book is. However, your reading speed will start to deteriorate if you read more books at the same time. So if you're playing one song at a time, your performance will remain the same.

Norton is not really that good, as it is resource hungry and a target for hackers as it is distributed as an OEM version with so many machines these days.
In my experience I have a used few antivirus software including Norton, and found that the best one is a free one called AVAST, from www.avast.com. Their home version automatically updates for one thing, and it covers internet mail, instant messaging, has a network shield, protects Outlook/Exchange, has a Peer2Peer (file sharing) shield, a standard shield and a web shield amongst it's 7 components, that can be paused or stopped individually if required, for example you may find your system slows down while using a file sharing program, so you can switch off the P2P provider if you want to risk it.
It also picks up other virus scanning programs on install and asks you which one you want as the active resident program. You can download loads of skins to change the look of it as well if you are not happy with the default interface.
You can do manual scans and change the level of security.
On install you can choose to do a DOS level scan of the system to ensure your computer is clear of any viruses.
I have used AVAST on friends "knackered" computers in the past and it has picked up viruses that their anti-virus programs, such as Norton and Symantec, let through.
You'll need to register this program with their website with just your name and email address. They will then send you a registration key that lasts 14 months. When your 14 months is up they will email you to remind you and you just re-register.
There is also a free version of AVG from www.grisoft.com, but that doesn't seem to pick up as many viruses as AVAST.
I tell friends now not to purchase anti-virus programs as they are a waste of money, especially while you have got gems like this around.
If you want a good firewall to partner this then use ZoneAlarm.

Take a backup of the files and reinstall Windows.
There is probably some adware/spyware or virus that is running on the system, and it will not show up under Add/Remove programs by virtue of how they get on the system in the first place.
Even for experts, it is very time-consuming to locate exactly where the issue is, and even if located, it's impossible to be sure that you've completely removed it. As it only takes a couple hours to perform backups and reinstall the OS, thus giving you a clean slate, that's the recommend methodology.
As for what's causing the slowdown -- if it almost freezes up, it means that you are probably running out of RAM (random access memory, not to be confused with hard disk / storage). In that situation, your system begins swapping, or using free space on your hard disk as backup. The issue is that your hard disk is 1000 times slower, which results in the system seizing up.
As for how much hard disk storage space is used -- contrary to popular belifree limewire software download 4.9ef, using too much of it doesn't slow the computer down. It's one of those things where you either have enough or don't have enough. If you have enough, your computer runs fine, and if not, things fail catastrophically. Take a backup of the files and reinstall Windows.
There is probably some adware/spyware or virus that is running on the system, and it will not show up under Add/Remove programs by virtue of how they get on the system in the first place.
Even for experts, it is very time-consuming to locate exactly where the issue is, and even if located, it's impossible to be sure that you've completely removed it. As it only takes a couple hours to perform backups and reinstall the OS, thus giving you a clean slate, that's the recommend methodology.
As for what's causing the slowdown -- if it almost freezes up, it means that you are probably running out of RAM (random access memory, not to be confused with hard disk / storage). In that situation, your system begins swapping, or using free space on your hard disk as backup. The issue is that your hard disk is 1000 times slower, which results in the system seizing up.
As for how much hard disk storage space is used -- contrary to popular belifree limewire software download 4.9ef, using too much of it doesn't slow the computer down. It's one of those things where you either have enough or don't have enough. If you have enough, your computer runs fine, and if not, things fail catastrophically. Hi. I just bought a magellan maestro 3100 a few days ago. I took it out for a drive and I figured out that the software was outdated and so I looked on their website for a update. I found it, but I am having a lot of trouble with the process. I have the update downloaded onto my computer, but when I go to put in the memory card, and plug in the usb, it says the battery is too low and there is no memory card found. I am really frustrated with this. Please help!
Here's a MANUAL approach that will update and fix the problem. A few of us have used it and it works, it's just not as easy as the AUTO approach. Magellan says an updated fix will be posted soon. I tried it and it worked for me - no promises, but check it out.
It'll take about 15 minutes if you carefully follow these step-by-step.
1. Unzip downloaded file
2. Use WinRAR to extract the executeable (they will all be in a file folder)
3. Create USBTRANS file in SYS folder on unit (or copy the backup that was made on the SD card)
4. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 1, 11, 13, 17 to USBTRANS which is in the SYS folder
5. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 to MAP
6. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 4, 6, 12, 14, 15 to APP
(NOTE: in order to copy the contents of group 14 over to the APP folder, you will need to copy the contents of TNShell_Bitmap\Venus2 to the same folder on the unit, that way the folder isn't just replaced.)
7. Copy contents of COPY_GROUP 9 and 10 to SD card
8. Copy contents of COPY_GROUP 16 to USR
9. Once copied over, unplug the unit and it should reset itself. Then all should be working
DON'T FORGET to put in the UNIT_ID.DAT file back in the USBTRANS folder if you haven't already. It may already be in there.

By the way the unit did some pretty weird stuff just after it came back up (after unplugging the UBS cable) but after one additional power cycle it was good to go. I also called Magellan and they also told me to "Take it back to store and exchance it". Poor, poor business.

The info that anthony posted got my 3100 working again... But most of the buttons was screwed up (but still worked)... So now i'm going to try the update again to see what happens... If all fails i'm taking my gps back to the store to get another unit or i may just go with TomTom XL....

I can't believe this, I just did the same thing and now my 3100 isn't working - my computer won't recognize the 3100! I am taking a trip on Saturday and looks like I am done and won't be able to use it - I am ticked. I sent an email yesterday, but have not had a response from Magellan. I have spent half the night working on this issue and am very frustrated!!!

Here's a MANUAL approach that will update and fix the problem. A few of us have used it and it works, it's just not as easy as the AUTO approach. Magellan says an updated fix will be posted soon. I tried it and it worked for me - no promises, but check it out.
It'll take about 15 minutes if you carefully follow these step-by-step.
1. Unzip downloaded file
2. Use WinRAR to extract the executeable (they will all be in a file folder)
3. Create USBTRANS file in SYS folder on unit (or copy the backup that was made on the SD card)
4. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 1, 11, 13, 17 to USBTRANS which is in the SYS folder
5. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 to MAP
6. Copy the contents of COPY_GROUP 4, 6, 12, 14, 15 to APP
(NOTE: in order to copy the contents of group 14 over to the APP folder, you will need to copy the contents of TNShell_Bitmap\Venus2 to the same folder on the unit, that way the folder isn't just replaced.)
7. Copy contents of COPY_GROUP 9 and 10 to SD card
8. Copy contents of COPY_GROUP 16 to USR
9. Once copied over, unplug the unit and it should reset itself. Then all should be working
DON'T FORGET to put in the UNIT_ID.DAT file back in the USBTRANS folder if you haven't already. It may already be in there.

By the way the unit did some pretty weird stuff just after it came back up (after unplugging the UBS cable) but after one additional power cycle it was good to go. I also called Magellan and they also told me to "Take it back to store and exchance it". Poor, poor business.

I am thinking about purchasing a 98 Ford Explorer Sport with 129000 miles on it. I have read reviews and out the 68, only 3 were bad and 1 was about average. I not familiar with Fords so I need to know if they are dependable, safe, and reliable vehicles.
I have a 97 4.0 ohc with 166k miles and they only thing I don't like is the cam tensioners, they rattle and it will cost a bundle to get them fixed, so I just keep driving it :(

Pretty much about as much maintaince as a 10 year old SUV will need (seen other SUVs of that year and size have similar issues)
But we've got many in our area still safe, still running 10+ years and most with up to 225,000 miles with mainly the issues listed above...
So it will cost to maintain yes, but remember, this is also a 10 year old vehicle now (as 08 Explorers are comign into showrooms in less than a month)

The ford man is "" WRONG......AGAIN...you can maintain this vehicle on a daily basis and your still going to have problems,call me when the transmission and ball joints go out ...which is probably already happening as we speak.........oh and your are never going to get that check engine light out ....when it comes on for EGR problems or to lean bank 1 or 2
Don't read some of the responses you get they are not always true yes it a good car and you will enjoy it just remember to keep the maintenance up and you will be fine hope this helps.

If you look at my right hand navigation in Firefox my rollover images are visible and the column widths are large enough to accommodate the text links on one line. However in IE8 my right hand navigation does not display the rollover images and my column widths are too small. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I've had very good luck with Microsoft Security Essentials. I used AVG for a long time, but the MSE program seems to catch viruses just as if not more effectively and doesn't annoy you every five minutes.
Avast is the best among the Free AV products....you must be doing something wrong ...or just had a bad download....
